What 'Game of Thrones' Author George R.R. Martin says

The  Game of Thrones  phenomena began with one man, and now George R.R. Martin plans to finish what he started. The author of the wildly popular books-turned-TV series  posted a blog entry  on Monday titled "An Ending," following the final episode of the HBO show.  GoT  showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff went off the fantasy novels for the first five seasons, but Martin has yet to finish the book series, leading the show to create their own storylines for the final three seasons, with Martin giving them notes.   "It has been a wild ride, to say the least," the 70-year-old author says of working on the TV series, before teasing, "Let me say this much -- last night was an ending, but it was also a beginning." Martin assures fans that he does plan to finish the books. "And I’m writing. Winter is coming, I told you, long ago… and so it is. THE WINDS OF WINTER is very late, I know, I know, but it will be d...

‘Game of Thrones’ Episode 4 Sneak Peek: Arya Sports a Black Eye

Image
On ”Game of Thrones,” the North has survived The Long Night, but is far from unscathed. In the last moments of Episode 3 all appears lost: Theon (Alfie Allen) has just died protecting Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), the dragons are either grounded or fighting off wights, and most everyone is buried under the unstoppable undead. Hell, even those in the crypt are surrounded. Fortunately, not-so-little Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) comes into her own as the assassin that Jaqen H’ghar (Tom Wlaschiha) had always known she could be. Not only does she whip around a dragonglass-tipped spear/staff worthy of the legendary Dornish warrior-queen Nymeria herself, but she’s also the one who turns the tide at the 11th hour by sneaking up on the Night King and sticking him with the pointy end of her Valyrian dagger. This not only kills him but all of the undead wight army that he created. It’s poetic justice: The thing that was going to be used against Bran has now been used to save...

Game of Thrones season 8 theories: Bran Stark's 'old friend' mentioned in episode 1 is not Jaime Lannister

Game of Thrones  fans seem to have misinterpreted a line in the season eight premiere, which aired on Sunday night. One moment in the new installment, which featured a scene that's essentially been eight years in the making, saw Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) tell Sam Tarly (John Bradley) that he was “waiting for an old friend”. In the closing scene, Bran is watching on as Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) arrives in Winterfell, their first encounter since he pushed him from a window in the very first episode of the HBO series. Fans thinking this is who Bran was referring to, though, could be incorrect. Some viewers believe that Bran's remark was made about Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) who we know is on his way back to Winterfell to fight against the White Walkers in the hope of atoning for his past sins. This theory is seemingly corroborated by a line spoken by Bran in the trailer for season eight's second episode: “Everything you did brought you to whe...
