(Photo by Richard Martin-Roberts/Getty Images) Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby will reportedly make royal history after its birth. Joe Gamp, a journalist for Express, said that Queen Elizabeth II’s newest great-grandchild will be the first member of the royal family to possibly have dual citizenship. Markle reportedly made an application for British residency shortly before her engagement to Prince Harry. Current rules state that a child born to an overseas couple where at least one parent is a US citizen can receive American citizenship upon its birth. The Duchess of Sussex’s current American citizenship and Prince Harry’s British citizenship will make their baby the first royal baby to be born as both American and British. But sources told The Times that Markle wou

Buddhist poker player giving his £466,000 winnings to charity

A Buddhist poker player has said he is going to give away more than $600,000 (£466,000) in winnings to charity. Scott Wellenbach’s third-place finish in the Bahamas scooped him $671,240 (£521,384), more than nine times his previous total. The Canadian player said the only way he could rationalise playing a game that could leave others in strife was to donate to those in need. He told PokerNews.com: “I hope that somehow a wise decision happens and the money goes to good purposes and certain human beings or other sentient beings, animals or whatever, beings with feelings, [so] that their lives are eased in some way.” The 67-year-old from Halifax, Nova Scotia, translates Buddhist teachings from Sanskrit and Tibetan when he is not at the poker table. He told the BBC that he reconciles the teachings of his faith with the adrenaline of a straight flush “with great difficulty”. His previous biggest win was $72,176 in 2017, which like all of his winnings went to charity. Beneficiaries

Tallahassee police release bodycam footage after video appears to show cops point gun at 2-year-old girl

Image
The Tallahassee Police Department released body cam footage of a recent traffic stop in order to quell criticism that erupted online over a passerby’s video that appeared to show police aim their guns at a 2-year-old girl. The video, released Friday, first starts with the bystander’s video, which is shot from across the street. A toddler can be seen exiting a blue pick-up truck with her hands up, and continues moving toward a group of officers until she is eventually scooped up. The women filming the video say the cops are pointing a gun at the child, though a tree branch blocks the view. Chief Michael DeLeo, however, said his officers’ body came footage shows a different perspective of the same incident, explaining that the truck was stopped because of a report of a theft by an armed suspect at a nearby store. A Loss Prevention officer from the store reported that one of the suspects had a gun in his waistband, and provided the suspects’ description and vehicle to police. “

Chelsea remain behind Sarri – David Luiz

Image
David Luiz insisted Chelsea trust Maurizio Sarri following the head coach's scathing criticism of the squad after their loss to London rivals Arsenal. Sarri accused his Chelsea players of failing to motivate themselves for Saturday's Premier League derby, which the Blues lost 2-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. The Italian's criticism came as pressure grows with Chelsea 13 points off the pace in fourth position, and only three points ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United in the race for the top four. Chelsea defender David Luiz, however, said he and his team-mates remain united behind Sarri – who only arrived from Serie A side Napoli in the off-season. "He was not happy, but nobody was happy, so it was normal," Luiz said. "It is our style, it is our philosophy, I think if you asked at the beginning of the season can Chelsea keep the ball you would have said no. "And now we are able to do that, like the best teams in the world, but

Rashford can emulate Man United greats Ronaldo and Rooney – Solskjaer

Image
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Marcus Rashford can emulate Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, backing the Manchester United sensation to become "absolutely top class". Rashford is in red-hot form with five goals in seven games since Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho on a caretaker basis at Old Trafford last month. The 21-year-old forward marked his 150th United appearance by scoring in Saturday's 2-1 Premier League win over Brighton and Hove Albion – taking his tally to 41 goals for the club. And Solskjaer hailed the England international, placing him in the same bracket as United greats Ronaldo and Rooney. "He is only 21, but the maturity he is showing at times is more than 21 and his work rate," said Solskjaer. "If you look at the stats, I was told that he is younger than Ronaldo and Rooney to reach 150 appearances for Manchester United." When asked if Rashford could reach the level of Ronaldo and Rooney, Solskjaer added: &

It was a clear goal – Valverde dismisses Barca VAR controversy

Image
Ernesto Valverde is convinced the officials made the correct decision in allowing Luis Suarez's goal to stand despite Leganes' protests in Barcelona's 3-1 win on Sunday. Leganes had made things interesting in Camp Nou when Martin Braithwaite cancelled out Ousmane Dembele's opener in the second half. The goal forced Valverde to introduce Lionel Messi from the bench, and he inspired Barca to go on and win – playing a role in Suarez's goal before then rounding things off late on. Suarez's goal was contentious from Leganes' perspective, as Ivan Cuellar saved Messi's strike and then the Uruguayan netted from close range, appearing to collide with the goalkeeper at the same time. Replays showed that, although there was contact, it was minimal and the goal stood even after a VAR review, angering Leganes. Valverde thinks sense prevailed, however. "I thought it was a goal," Valverde told Movistar. "What can I say, everyone see
