Somali-American model Halima Aden just made history by gracing the pages of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue wearing a hijab and burkini. The Kenyan-born model said it was a "dream come true." Sports Illustrated announced the newest member of its "Swimsuit family" on Monday. The iconic magazine said for Aden's swimsuit spread, they chose the perfect place: her birth country. Her photoshoot was shot on Watamu Beach with photographer Yu Tsai. Aden opened up about how much the photoshoot meant to her in an interview with SI. "Growing up in the states, I never felt represented, because I could never flip through a magazine and see a girl who was wearing a hijab," she said. Pope Francis donated $500,000 on Saturday to assist Central American migrants currently in Mexico. The money is allotted to help migrant communities amid supposed waning publicity. “Media coverage of this emergency has been decreasing and as a result, aid to migrants by the government and private individuals has also decreased,” read a Vatican statement. The funds are expected to be meted out to 27 projects associated with 16 Mexican dioceses and congregations. The money will be used for food, lodging and basic necessities. In recent months, thousands of migrants have arrived in Mexico, having traveled more than (2,500 miles) on foot and with makeshift vehicles from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala,” read a press release from Peter’s Pence, the organization that’s distributing the funds. “Men and women, often with young children, flee poverty and violence, hoping for a better future in the United States. Emiliano Sala's father has died of a heart attack three months after his footballer son was tragically killed in a plane crash. Julio Muller, the mayor of his hometown of Progreso, Argentina, confirmed that the 58-year-old died on Friday. He said he died during the night and paramedics were unable to save him. He said: "2019 doesn't let up in shocking us with news in this town. "At 5 o'clock in the morning, the lady, his wife, rang me and she was very upset. The doctors were there but when I arrived at their home, he had already died." Brazilian authorities took a parrot into custody after it alerted suspected drug dealers of cops nearby, according to the  Guardian .  The bird was seized on Monday afternoon after police descended on a drug den in Vila Irmã Dulce, a low-income neighborhood in northeast Brazil. The unidentified parrot allegedly warned the couple that ran the shack by shouting, "Mama, the police!" in Portuguese, Brazilian. "He must have been trained for this," a policeman who took part in the operation said. "As soon as the police got close he started shouting." Police were still able to arrest the pair. In the process, they recovered drugs — including crack and marijuana — and large amounts of cash. cash were less successful, however, in getting the parrot to cooperate after it was taken to "jail.

TMZ reported that prosecutors in the Peach State filed three charges against the Migos rapper in February, including a firearms possession by a convicted felon, a felony, and misdemeanor charges for marijuana possession and improper lane change. Former President Robert Mugabe yesterday failed to turn up in court in Chinhoyi, where he was expected to testify against four of his workers who allegedly stole close to a million dollars from his rural Zvimba home. The workers, Constancia Mugabe (50), Johanne Mapurisa (50), Saymore Nhetekwa (47) and Andrew Muhumbe (37) are accused of stealing US$922 000 from a briefcase at Mugabe’s rural home. Prosecutor Herald Matura said Mugabe was out of the country, seeking medical treatment. Chinhoyi magistrate Amos Mubobo postponed the case to June 10, 2019. But defence lawyer, Tapiwa Muchineripi was not amused and requested the court to relax bail conditions for his clients. Mubobo granted the request and ruled that the accused will no longer report to the police every Friday.

Archaeologists have discovered an ancient tomb containing dozens of mummies at a site in the south east of Egypt. Cut into rock and hidden behind a stone wall, the tomb contained the bodies of both adults and children stored across multiple burial chambers. As well as human remains, Egyptian and Italian researchers found artifacts including vases, coffin fragments, intricately decorated masks, cartonnages and a statuette, Egypt’s Ministry of Antiquities reported Tuesday. The main room of the tomb contained about 30 mummies, including the remains of several young children tucked into a recess on one side of the chamber. Archaeologists also found tools of the funerary trade in the room, including a mummy-transporting stretcher made from palm wood and pieces of linen, several jars of bitumen, a lamp and a painted statuette of the “Ba-bird”: a part-bird, part-human figurine depicting the “soul of the deceased,” the Egyptian ministry explained.   The room was also home to se

US President Donald Trump will make a three-day state visit to the UK from 3 to 5 June, Buckingham Palace has announced. The president and First Lady Melania Trump will be a guest of the Queen and attend a ceremony in Portsmouth to mark the 75th Anniversary of D-Day He will also hold talks with the prime minister at Downing Street. Mr Trump met the Queen at Windsor Castle when he came to the UK in July 2018 on a working visit. He also held talks with Mrs May at Chequers before heading to Scotland, where he owns the Turnberry golf course. The president was promised the visit by Prime Minister Theresa May after he was elected in 2016 - but no date was set. Mrs May said the State Visit was an "opportunity to strengthen our already close relationship".
