Spurs v United not about me or Pochettino – Solskjaer

Image
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not believe Sunday's Premier League showdown between Manchester United and Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham is an audition for the Old Trafford job. Pochettino is regarded as the number one candidate for the United role at the end of the season, while caretaker manager Solskjaer is also in the mix. Solskjaer has led United to five successive wins since replacing Jose Mourinho last month – the Norwegian favourite bringing entertaining football back to the Theatre of Dreams. However, Solskjaer – on loan from Molde – insisted the blockbuster clash is not about him or counterpart Pochettino. "No. It's not about me at all," Solskjaer told reporters when asked if the match was an audition for the permanent job. "It should always be about the players, because it's not about me. It's not about him. "We don't kick a ball at all. They kick a ball. Of course, we might make a decision here or there, but it'

Solskjaer: Sanchez has a new lease of life at Man United

Image
Manchester United caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said Alexis Sanchez has a "new lease of life" as the Chilean forward tries to rediscover his best form at Old Trafford. Sanchez was a high-profile arrival from Premier League rivals Arsenal in January last year, however, the former Barcelona star has struggled for form and fitness in Manchester. The 30-year-old, who only scored three goals for United last season, has been limited to just 14 matches in all competitions this term due to a hamstring injury. But since returning to the squad, Sanchez has tallied two assists in two appearances and Solskjaer is confident the veteran will soon be back to his best ahead of Sunday's trip to Tottenham. "He's got high standards himself that you demand from yourself," Solskjaer told reporters. "When it doesn't work for you, as it clearly hasn't and he's had some injuries, then it's difficult to suddenly click and put that confid

Sarri demands Jorginho back-up after Fabregas exit

Image
Maurizio Sarri has demanded Chelsea sign a back-up option to Jorginho after seeing Cesc Fabregas depart for Monaco on Friday. Chelsea stuttered to a 2-1 win over Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with Jorginho enduring a particularly frustrating day. The Italy international saw a lot of the ball and was generally accurate with his distribution, but he appeared to struggle consistently with the more complicated passes. Chelsea fans seemed to get on his back on a few occasions and Sarri accepts the ex-Napoli player was "in trouble" at times, but he did not take him off as he felt there was no adequate replacement for him on the bench. Fabregas would have been that option had the Spaniard not departed for Ligue 1 on Friday, and with the club reportedly stalling on deals for Nicolo Barella and Leandro Paredes, Sarri is eager for midfield options to arrive sooner rather than later. "Jorginho was in trouble and on the bench there wasn't a p

GOP rejected Obama's executive reach, but accepts Trump's

President Barack Obama stunned Republicans when he bypassed Congress and, relying on what he called his pen and his phone, used executive powers to enact his agenda, including protecting millions of young immigrants from deportation. Now, with President Donald Trump proposing an even more dramatic end-run around Congress to build his promised border wall with Mexico, many Republicans are uneasily cheering him on. The potential use of a national emergency declaration by Trump for the border wall shows the extent to which the party is willing to yield on treasured values — in this case, the constitutional separation of powers — to steer clear of confronting the White House and give the president what he wants.  It's a different accommodation from just a few years ago. Then Republicans often called out Obama as overstepping his authority in using executive actions when Congress failed to act on White House priorities. They complained about Obama as "king," ''emp

Priyanka Chopra: Would be difficult to break stereotypes about Indian films!

© Press Priyanka Chopra: Would be difficult to break stereotypes about Indian films! Actress Priyanka Chopra has been working in the US for close to three years now and the actress feels that stereotypes still exist in Hollywood about India and Bollywood. The actress feels that as long as more actors will keep transitioning from Indian to the west, the stereotypes will be broken. "There are huge stereotypes about India, about Hindi films. There is a lot more awareness now that Hindi movies are such a big industry but the stereotypes still exist," she said. There are very wrong stereotypes about Indian actors in the US as Priyanka revealed that people expect them to lack English communication skills and just get up and dance. Priyanka believes that these stereotypes will be broken only when the Indian actors get the mainstream role in major Hollywood projects. Talking about her own experience, the actress said that when people watched her on the TV show ‘Quantico&#

Hailey Baldwin Says Learning Self Care Meant 'Taking Time for My Personal Life'

© GETTY The 22-year-old model opened up about her struggles with being compared to others, as well as how she learned that she has limits and “can’t do everything.”  Hailey Baldwin knows it’s important to take some time for herself.  In a new interview with Buzzfeed, the 22-year-old model opened up about her struggles with being compared to others, as well as how she learned that she has limits and “can’t do everything.” “The way I practice self care is I make time for my personal life, and I make sure that I'm trying to get as much rest as I can,” Baldwin shared. “Taking the time to maybe chill out and go to the spa or veg out and watch a movie — for me that is self care. Just relaxing and being kind to your body, because I'm the type of person where I can go, go, go. I'll run myself down. I've done that for like three or four years now, whereas I'm now learning that I have limits. I can't do everything.” Baldwin, who married Justin Bieber in November,

THIS DAY IN HISTORY JANUARY 13, 1128

Pope recognizes Knights Templar On this day in 1128, Pope Honorius II grants a papal sanction to the military order known as the  Knights Templar , declaring it to be an army of God. Led by the Frenchman Hughes de Payens, the Knights Templar organization was founded in 1118. Its self-imposed mission was to protect Christian pilgrims on their way to and from the Holy Land during the Crusades, the series of military expeditions aimed at defeating Muslims in  Palestine . For a while, the Templars had only nine members, mostly due to their rigid rules. In addition to having noble birth, the knights were required to take strict vows of poverty, obedience and chastity. In 1127, new promotional efforts convinced many more noblemen to join the order, gradually increasing its size and influence. By the time the Crusades ended unsuccessfully in the early 14th century, the order had grown extremely wealthy, provoking the jealousy of both religious and secular powers. In 1307, King Philip
