Lionel Messi finally responds to Cristiano Ronaldo's challenge to join him in Italy

Lionel Messi has finally responded to Cristiano Ronaldo challenging him to leave Barcelona and sign for an Italian team. Ronaldo left Real Madrid after nine years in the summer, signing for Italian giants Juventus, which all but ended his long-term rivalry with the Argentine. Since leaving La Liga Ronaldo has been continually asked to discuss Messi - and vice versa - and earlier in the season set the Barcelona star a challenge. The Portuguese said: "I played in England, Spain, Italy, Portugal, in the national team, while he is still in Spain. Maybe he needs me more. "For me, life is a challenge, I like it and I like to make people happy. I would like him to come to Italy one day. Like me, accept the challenge." Queen Victoria had owned a piano decorated in a similar manner almost twenty years earlier. In her diary of 5 March 1839, she wrote, 'Lord Melbourne admired the new painted piano I have in the drawing-room, and said, 'I like those monkeys on it.' The piano, an S & P Erard, was first purchased by Queen Victoria in 1856. It is made of mahogany, satinwood and pine, with brass and gilt bronze mounts, gilded and varnished....

The Queen's Christmas Day speech has been slammed on social media for being "out of touch" and disrespectful to families "struggling to make ends meet".
