THE THREE TRAFFIC LIGHT

Image
The Three-Light Traffic Light, Invented  by Garrett Morgan in 1923 With only an elementary school education, black inventor (and son of a slave),  Garrett Morgan came up with several significant inventions, including an improved sewing machine and the gas mask. However, one of Morgan's most influential inventions was the improved traffic light. Without his innovation, drivers across the nation would be directed by a two-light system. Thanks to the successes of his other inventions, Morgan became the first black person in Cleveland, Ohio to own a car. As a motorist, he witnessed a severe car accident at an intersection in the city. In response, he decided to expand on the current traffic light by adding a “yield” component, warning oncoming drivers of an impending stop. He took out the  patent for the creation in 1923 , and it was granted to him the following year.

Samsung reveals Galaxy Fold and S10 5G

Galaxy S (2010): The original S-series handset was released days ahead of Apple's iPhone 4, and had a bigger 4in screen and microSD card slot in its favour. At that point, its main Android rival was the HTC Desire, and although Samsung's device was lighter, thinner, and had a more powerful graphics processor, some reviewers  said it felt less "premium " in the hand than its competitor. Galaxy S2 (2011): The second-generation device saw its display grow to 4.3in, its rear camera increase in resolution to 8MP, and its processor move over to a dual-core design. It was praised for allowing owners to unlock it by pressing the home key, rather than having to press a button on top as before. And although some griped that it still felt plasticky, it sold in its millions - helping Samsung overtake Nokia as the world's bestselling mobile phone-maker. Galaxy S3 (2012): The third-generation model established a trend of including a bigger display but compensati...

Chelsea owner Abramhovic finally reveals Sarri sack conditions

After a strong start to the season, the Blues have slipped down to sixth in the Premier League table following three straight away defeats. Chelsea are still in all three cup competitions, including the final of the Carabao Cup where they face Manchester City next weekend. Chelsea chiefs want to see evidence Maurizio Sarri can improve the Blues – or the Italian’s time at Stamford Bridge may be short lived.  That is according to ESPN FC pundit and European football expert Julien Laurens. Sarri was only appointed as successor to Antonio Conte in July 2017 but his long-term future at Chelsea is already in doubt after a poor run of results since the turn of the year.  Like Conte, Laurens cannot see a cup win saving Sarri his job. He instead thinks director Marina Granovskaia and owner Roman Abramovich want clear examples Sarri is taking the club in the right direction. “I’m not sure it [winning the FA Cup] would be enough,” Laurens said. “It was not enough for Antonio Conte, for...
