FIFA's shortlist 10-man best player of the Year award

The 10-man shortlist for FIFA’s Best Player of the Year award has been announced, with the likes of  Kevin De Bruyne ,  Bernardo  Silva, Neymar and Luis Suarez missing out. Four current Premier League stars feature in the top 10, with  Eden Hazard  who moved from Chelsea to Real Madrid over the summer also named among the nominees. Tottenham’s  Harry Kane  is joined by Liverpool trio  Virgil Van Dijk ,  Mohamed Salah  and Sadio Mane with VVD the favorite to be crowned the top player on the planet as his dominant displays led Liverpool to UEFA Champions League glory and within one point of Manchester City in the Premier League. 13-year old boy will receive pilot training after he stole a plane for joyride

A Chinese boy who stole two seaplanes and took them for a joyride could receive pilot training. The 13-year-old drove the aircraft around a car park before hitting a crash barrier with one, causing 8,000 yuan (£935) worth of damage, reports the South China Morning Post. He was caught on CCTV arriving by electric bike at the Taihu Lake hangar in eastern Zhejiang province around midnight on 15 July. The teenager from Huzhou city had spent a large part of the weekend observing staff doing maintenance work on the planes at the SeaRey base in preparation for the stunt. He was seen pulling a 450kg seaplane from its hangar, climbing into the cockpit and starting the engine. He proceeded to drive it around the airport, hitting the barrier before switching to another plane and taking it for a further three circuits of the car park. Club world cup kick off in Qatar on December 11

The penultimate edition of the Club World Cup in its current format featuring seven teams will kick off in Qatar on Dec. 11 with the final taking place 10 days later, global soccer governing body FIFA announced on Friday. FIFA had said it would revamp the tournament to feature 24 teams from 2021, with Qatar hosting the final two editions in the old style as test events for the World Cup which the Gulf state will host in 2022. Three teams for this year have been confirmed with European champions Liverpool joining CONCACAF champions CF Monterrey and Oceania's Hienghene Sport. The club representing hosts Qatar will depend on the ongoing AFC Champions League.
