Actress Priyanka Chopra has been working in the US for close to three years now and the actress feels that stereotypes still exist in Hollywood about India and Bollywood.
The actress feels that as long as more actors will keep transitioning from Indian to the west, the stereotypes will be broken.
"There are huge stereotypes about India, about Hindi films. There is a lot more awareness now that Hindi movies are such a big industry but the stereotypes still exist," she said.
There are very wrong stereotypes about Indian actors in the US as Priyanka revealed that people expect them to lack English communication skills and just get up and dance.
Priyanka believes that these stereotypes will be broken only when the Indian actors get the mainstream role in major Hollywood projects.
Talking about her own experience, the actress said that when people watched her on the TV show ‘Quantico', it prompted the viewers to view her Hindi films as well.
The actress feels that audiences should be open about seeing people from different backgrounds in iconic parts as well.
She went on to say that she would be happy to see a woman plays the role of James Bond. The actress is awaiting the release of her Hollywood debut ‘Baywatch' in India.
The actress has shared screen with Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron in the film.
All eyes are on Priyanka after Deepika made her Bollywood debut earlier this year with ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage' which couldn't justify the hype.
