The Secret Behind Shawn Mendes and Miley Cyrus's 2019 Grammys Performance

The pop stars totally slayed their joint performance of Shawn's song, "In My Blood," at the 2019 Grammys. If you're wondering how this iconic moment in music history came to be, we've got the answer.When asked by Variety how this collaboration began, Miley shared it was thanks to the magic of DMs.
"I actually sent him a DM and said I don’t know what you’re trying to do next," Miley said, "because I’ve actually been in his position in his career too before where you’re someone who I think is trying to fit into pop music and you want to be played on pop music but you don’t want to be conformist and you want to do your own thing. I love the way that he always kind of plays alternative pop because it’s something that I love to do."
After that phenomenal performance, can we expect a collab for a new song in the near future? Based on Shawn's (horrible) poker face, we're going to say yes. When asked if they were making music together, Shawn got a little flustered and ~mysteriously~ said we'd "have to wait and see."
While we're anxiously waiting, let's remember how baby Shawn used to sing Miley songs — and now he's up on stage singing with her. Goals.
