Levante will take their appeal against Copa del Rey elimination to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after their initial move was rejected. Egypt sentences TV host to year in prison for interviewing gay man

Mohamed al-Gheiti, who previously expressed his stance against homosexuality, invited the man to discuss his lifestyle on  air  in August 2018. The move led to the  misdemeanors  court in Giza charging him with promoting homosexuality, incitement to debauchery and immorality and contempt of religion. He was also fined 3,000 Egyptian pounds ($A234). According to the  Egypt Independent , lawyer Samir Sabry filed the case against the TV host with the attorney-general, saying he had violated the basic rules, laws and religious constants. A Buddhist poker player has said he is going to give away more than $600,000 (£466,000) in winnings to charity. Scott Wellenbach’s third-place finish in the Bahamas scooped him $671,240 (£521,384), more than nine times his previous total. The Canadian player said the only way he could rationalise playing a game that could leave others in strife was to donate to those in need. He told PokerNews.com: “I hope that somehow a wise decision happens and the money goes to good purposes and certain human beings or other sentient beings, animals or whatever, beings with feelings, [so] that their lives are eased in some way.” The 67-year-old from Halifax, Nova Scotia, translates Buddhist teachings from Sanskrit and Tibetan when he is not at the poker table.
